Meia

from $75.00

Meia

One of the fifty Nereid nymphs.

In Greek mythology, the 50 daughters of the sea god Nereus and sea nymph Doris, whose kingdom was the Aegean Sea. Usually depicted as beautiful young ladies, sometime riding the backs of dolphins or sea horses, they took care of the sea’s riches and protected fishermen. Each one represented a different aspect of the sea, such as sand, rocks, waves, and currents. They formed part of the sea god Poseidon’s entourage and lived at the bottom of the sea.

Meia - the loved sea nymph, loved by Poseidon is the protector of seafarers

Canson® Infinity Edition Etching Rag is a 100% cotton Fine Art paper with a smooth texture, reminiscent of the original genuine etching and printmaking papers. This museum-grade paper is a thick 310 gsm matte rag with high paper shade stability and resistance to aging due to the use of natural minerals.

Printed in-house with Canon Archival Pigment Inks. ‘Giclee printmaking’ is a sprayed ink technology; this is water soluble. We recommend the cold wax protectant applied to the image surface plus the 8 ply bevel acid free mat (this holds the art away from framing glazing or glass. Our preference glassing is museum non glare UV glass. Call if you prefer you work to arrive framed.
